Any time you shoot at an object, if you have a good aim, you should be able to hit it every time if the objects happens to fall at the same time you shoot.

Abbreviations used in the picture.

• Vo = velocity of bullet fired
• Vox = horizontal component of intial velocity
• Voy = vertical component of inital velocity
• x = horizontal distance to object
• y = (Voy*t - 1/2gt^2) = vertical distance to object at any time
• h = (h-1/2gt^2) = height of monkey at any time

Problem

If you are 250 meters from an object, and you had riffle that shot a 25 g bullet at 300m/s,

a)how far off the ground will the object be when its struck by the bullet.

b)how long will it take for the bullet to hit the object.
