Many different people have contributed to the body of knowledge known as "Science". We need to know about these unique gifts.

Research the lives and contributions of one an individual who advanced science in some way
DOCUMENT where you found your information!!!
Prepare a PowerPoint presentation or a report PLUS REFERENCES [at least one written source and one internet source]
[2 page minimum, typed, double spaced, 1 inch margins, 12 point type]
that contains information on

birth/death date and place
early schooling [if known]
early work
important discoveries
awards
etc. [later life, other interesting facts]
and your speculation on how things might be different had this person not been alive - ever

If you have someone in mind, please check with me BEFORE you start research!

Did you also check encyclopedias, and the Larousse Biographical Dictionary; Dictionary of Scientific Biography; and The Biographical Dictionary of Scientists? In North High's library are links to two great databases: Discovery Biography and Discovery Multicultural America. Select which ethnic group you are researching, and enter "scientist" as a search term. Easy!
